Personal Space

I have been scrapbooking since college, but I only got serious about it a year ago. Yesterday John and I rearranged our "office" to include my very own scrapbooking corner. Outfitted with a few bargains from garage sales, Christmas gifts, and sale shopping, it works pretty well!

A recent addition is a Sears Kenmore sewing machine that my parents got from a garage sale, and fixed it up to work. It is green and old, but I am excited to be able to sew on my scrapbook pages. Now I just have to learn how to use it:)

Here are a few of my pages from the last few months:

Saturday I was a soccer referee for 3rd and 4th graders in Johnstown (about 10 min. away). I couldn't find sunscreen in our house before I left, so I just borrowed a little bit and put it on my face. I forgot about the creases behind my knees, and that is where I got burnt the most! It hurts to stand up straight, and am constantly lathering on the aloe. Don't skip the spot behind your knees!
Have a great week everyone!

Top 3

While teaching 4th grade computers, I took requests from them for their next project (which would be kind of a break from the previous rigorous topics). They Choose FOOD.
I have been having a blast thinking of my top 3 favorites. Here are a few:

Restaurants:
1. Pizza Ranch (A hometown favorite!)
2. Red Robin (classic but delicous hamburgers and fries)
3. Valentinos (Buffet that is especially delicious in Lincolon, NE)

Candy:
1. Take 5 (a newer candy bar...delicious)
2. Kit Kat (see blast from the past that lacks sound quality)
3. 3 Musketeers

Desserts
1. Chocolate Chip Cookies (Casey's Bakery's are the best!)
2. Monkey Bread (A Nibbelink family favorite)
3. Cheesecake (blueberrys on the top are GREAT!)

Main Meal Food
1. Tater tot caserole (A potluck favorite)
2. Tavern (also known as Sloppy Joes or barbeque)
3. Lasagna (more feel good food)

Road Trip Food
1. Carmel Frappucchino (a jolt of caffine and tastiness for the long trip to IOWA)
2. Twizzlers (something chewy that takes a while to eat)
3. Peanut Butter M&M's (Something to pop in your mouth and enjoy the PB goodness)

What are your TOP 3? :)

Top 2

The Paparazzi have taken the court. My rec. league volleyball team (named The Paparazzi) has been on the tournament trail for 3 weeks now. We just beat the #2 team last night, and next week as one of the TOP 2, we take on the #1 rated team! The team consists of Me, my JV coach from this year, Rebecca and Jami- two of my teacher friends who are also awesome VB players (and mom's now), and 2 of my awesome players from this season. Here is just a shot of what they can do (from the season's highlight video)

It kinda reminds me of my High School days. Re-live the glory:)

They only way I got these pictures was beacuse I learned to capture a still image from a DVD. Here's what else I captured:)

Have a super day.

Chocolate Rabbits and Jelly Beans

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had a great time with friends, Church was lavishly decorated and the service was powerful, but it wasn’t the same as when I was growing up. Maybe the fact that we went out to Qdoba for lunch had something to do with it. Or maybe it was because it was snowing most of the day. Anyways. Happy Easter! Here are two pictures of one of the extra lilies from church that we got to keep.

I don’t remember getting Easter gifts when I was growing up. I think that is a good thing.
Plus, now that I am older I still love candy way too much, so it probably wouldn’t have helped. I stopped by the store to get some cheap Easter candy for some middle school boys who spent their study hall helping me with a project. I found these! I can’t wait to see them eating them:)

Jelly beans are a funny thing. They have a strange texture, lots of sugar, and so much TASTE. How do they cram it all in? I bought a bag (at the after Easter sale) and poured them into a bowl. I told John that I really like the black and white ones. He looked at me and said… “Great! I hate those colors!” How often do you find a match like that:)

Hairy Transitions

Last time I left you with a glipse. Here is the story.
John let his hair grow out for a very long time. He then decided not to shave his beard. At first it was kind of cute...then it got gross. (He said butter and cheese got stuck in it the most!) He wasn't really trimming it, and it was actually longer than it is in this picture...

In fact it was so long, I even put it in a pony tail one night:)

Then, He decided to get a hair cut...and soon after the other hair came off. Well, at least some of it.

Then we have the "Hulk" stage

Then, there is the "cop mustache" stage...

And...yes he did cut the moustache off eventually too. If forgot to take a "final" picture. (but you can see how he looks when he is holding Kathryn- our friend's new baby) He actually was having a blast holding her, He just wasn't ready for the picture.

I made a strawberry pie for them...I hope it tastes as good as it looks:)

With so many pictures of John, I thought I would add one of me;)
